athlete. I'm curious if it is a waste of time because of the musculature.
A: As more young people are now getting into tightlacing, this is becoming a frequently heard question. Muscle atrophy is avoided by maintaining a daily 10-20 minute exercise routine for the abdominal and back muscles and to lace gradually. Especially on a body with low fat content, care should be taken to lace up slowly as there is no fat padding to distribute the pressure. Light exercise in the corset can be helpful as well, provided no great strain or exertion takes place. This settles and relaxes the muscles in the corset. I recommended this in general but it is less significant for those with more adipose tissue.
